What to do right now if you think you have been scammed
- Do not click anything else on the screen. If a pop-up is telling you to call a number, do not call that number.
- If someone has remote access to your device, turn off the Wi-Fi or unplug the internet cable.
- If you shared banking information, call your bank immediately.
- Then call us at 289-278-EASY. We can come to your home and help sort things out.
You Are Not Alone
You are not foolish. This happens to smart people every day.
Online scams are designed to trick people. They use fear, urgency, and convincing language. They look like real messages from your bank, the CRA, or companies you trust. They create panic so you act before you think.
If this has happened to you, please know that you are not alone. We help people across Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, and Oshawa recover from scams every single week.
You do not need to feel embarrassed. You need someone who will listen, check your devices, and help you feel safe again. That is what we do.

After a visit, most people tell us they feel relieved. Not just because their device is clean, but because they understand what happened and know what to look for next time.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- I think I was scammed but I am not sure. Should I still call?
Yes. If something does not feel right, call us. It is always better to check than to worry. We can talk it through on the phone and decide together if a visit makes sense.
- Will you need my passwords?
We may need to help you reset passwords during the visit, but we will do this together with you. We never ask for passwords over the phone or by email, and we never keep your login details.
- Can scammers still access my device after I turn it off?
If someone had remote access and you have turned off the device or disconnected from the internet, they cannot access it right now. But it is important to have the device checked before going back online to make sure no harmful software was left behind.
- What if they got my banking information?
Call your bank immediately. They can freeze your accounts and watch for suspicious transactions. Then call us. We will secure your devices and accounts so it does not happen again.
